June 7, 2002 August 31, 2002 This summer ArchiTech presents dozens of original drawings, prints, and photographs from the gallerys own collection; highlights from ArchiTechs 18 notable exhibitions over the past three years. This special show and sale, titled Retrospective/New Perspective, will be on exhibit through the month of August. It celebrates the launch of the gallerys first website, architechgallery.com, where each of ArchiTechs landmark exhibitions are catalogued in detail. The newest show will feature important works by Frank Lloyd Wright, Daniel Burnham, and Viollet le Duc, as well as drawings by Alfonso Iannelli, Henry P. Glass, and Bruce Goff. The photographs of Hedrich Blessing, exclusive to the ArchiTech collection, will be offered in addition to contemporary abstract works by Madeleine Isom, the Zen Mistress of architectural photography. Art Deco designs from Chicagos 1933 Worlds Fair will be paired with extravagant Beaux-Arts drawings from the early 20th Century. And a spectacular modernist embassy by Chicagos mysterious Abel Faidy will be showcased alongside Giambattista Piranesis 18th Century prisons.
This summer, the launch of architechgallery.com brings the treasures of River Norths ArchiTech Gallery to collectors around the world. Together, they provide graphic evidence of the power of architecture. Retrospective/New Perspective opens at ArchiTech on Friday, June 7 and continues through Saturday, August 31. |
